Will the 2.5 inch lift ruin axles on my Bronco Sport?

The truth is, lifting any vehicle with independent suspension will inevitably cause the axles to operate at a steeper angle. This applies to all pickup trucks, SUVs and cars. The key to making these lift kits work is to minimize that angle. On our basic 1.5 inch lift kit, the axle angle increases from 5 to 10 degrees with the vehicle sitting on level ground, which falls within the limits of the axle’s up and down travel. In order to add the extra inch of lift for our 2.5 inch kit, we engineered a 1 inch subframe spacer set, which works the same way a differential drop works on a pickup truck lift kit. The result is that the entire body of the vehicle is up an additional inch. That additional lift dramatically improves approach, breakover and depart angles, while providing extra clearance in the fenders for a larger tire. The 1 inch subframe spacer set cancels out the additional angle so the axles and suspension arms still operate with the same geometry is if it was a 1.5 inch lift.

In short, the axle angle does increase with the larger lift due to HRG’s innovation. We originally created the 2.5 inch lift back in 2021 with our original company owned 2021 Bronco Sport Badlands. We tested the 2.5 inch kit as well as several other HRG exclusive parts in extreme conditions over the course of 3 years and thousands of miles without a single failure or issue of any kind. We have continued that legacy with our new 2025 Bronco Sport Badlands Sasquatch. We are happy to report that over the course of the past year, and thousands of miles driven, rugged offroad testing in a variety of conditions, the HRG Offroad 2.5 inch kit has proven to be seamless and without equal in the Bronco Sport lift kit market.
